Frequently asked questions
Which browsers support this?+
Chrome and Edge on desktop have the best support. Some other browsers do not expose the speech-recognition API at all.
How accurate is it?+
Accuracy depends on your microphone, background noise and the selected language. A headset mic in a quiet room gives the best results.
Is my voice recorded and uploaded?+
The browser sends audio to its own speech service for recognition; this website neither stores nor receives your audio.
Can I dictate punctuation?+
In supported languages you can say “comma”, “period” and “new line” and they are inserted.
